Oswego High School will send three athletes to the state Class 2A track competition Friday and Saturday in Wichita.
Ethan Carter was the regional champion in the 400 meter dash. Carter ran a personal best 52.5.
Ethan Elliott took second place in the shot put with a throw of 46-feet, 5-inches.
David Kirkpatrick took fourth in the 100 meter dash. David ran 11.71 in the finals.
“Overall I am very proud of our track team. They have worked hard all season and have been a pleasure to coach. We are peaking at the right time of the year. Besides having three qualify, we had several other kids run there best times at the regional meet. We have a very young track team with a bright future,” Oswego Coach Travis Hurley said.
Erie sprinter Chris Woolf qualified for the state Class 3A competition in the 100 meters. He ran at the regional in 11.87.
Brett Thompson qualified in the javelin with a throw of 169-feet, 4-inches.
