Parsons number two doubles player Matt Mosier returns a volley Friday at the regional tennis tourney in Chanute.

CHANUTE — Three Parsons High School tennis players have qualified for the state Class 4A tennis tournament with wins Friday in the regional meet in Chanute.

On Friday, Parsons’ number one singles player Paul Juesten won over Ethan Bush of Chanute 6-0, 6-0 and defeated Caleb Mathes of Labette County 7-6, (7-1), 6-3. Juesten will play in the semifinals today, but has already qualified for the state tournament.

The Vikings’ number one doubles team of Ross Benavides and Bobby Ho also qualified for state.

The duo received a bye in the first round and defeated Bolivar/Baker of Ottawa 6-0, 6-2 to advance to the semis at 10 a.m. today.
