COLUMBUS — The Parsons Lady Vikings softball team ended its season here Monday in the Class 4A regional tournament. Frontenac defeated Parsons 12-1 to advance.
Parsons’ season ended with a record of 7-14.
Lindzi Pellock started pitching for Parsons and Hannah Martin pitched in relief.
“Both battled and tried to work head with the tight strike zone,” Parsons Coach Tom Schibi said.
“We had our chances, could not get a key hit with runners in scoring position,” he said.
Martin doubled and singled for Parsons. Shay Kelly, Stacia Dishman, Tatum Johnson, Audrey Perez and Bridget Dunlay all singled. Dishman had the RBI for Parsons.
“I want to thank senior Audrey Perez for leading this young team all season long,” Schibi said.
Parsons started three sophomores and five freshmen in the game and he hopes the girls continue to improve in the off season.
