OSWEGO — Another year of high school girls golf teed off on Tuesday as Labette County hosted its annual invitational at Oswego Golf Course.
Chanute won the tournament with a team score of 207 strokes, while Fort Scott’s Lauren Madison finished first in the individual standings with a score of 41 over nine holes.
Labette County finished eighth with 329 strokes, while Parsons didn’t qualify as a team.
Individually for Labette County, Josie Hayward finished 31st with a score of 75. Gracie Moore was 40th at 82 strokes, while Cloey Jones and Ava O’Brien tied for 45th at 86 strokes.
“I’m very proud of the effort each girl is putting into improving her game and I’m looking forward to a great season,” Labette County head coach Tammy Hayward said.
As for Parsons, Jada Wilson finished 39th with 81 strokes, while Caitrin Tierney finished 50th with 103 strokes.
