Red Cross blood drive comes to Parsons Dec. 26, 27
To The Sun:
Christmas is almost upon us, and one of the most wonderful gifts to give is the gift of life. The next Red Cross blood drive is scheduled from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, at the First Christian Church, 29th and Southern, in Parsons.
Please take the time to schedule an appointment to donate. Simply call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767), or visit redcrossblood.org to make an appointment. Many time slots are still available, but the sooner you schedule, the more likely you will get the time slot you prefer. And don’t forget that you can speed up the donation process by using Rapid Pass the day of your appointment.
If you require assistance in scheduling an appointment, please call me at 778-6483, leave a brief message, and I will get back with you. I would like to mention that, along with the delicious sandwiches, homemade cookies and drinks that are normally provided in the canteen area after your donation, an extra treat of cheese balls will be provided, compliments of our long-time bloodmobile supporter Erlene Cares.
As always, walk-ins are welcome, but appointments get first priority. The Red Cross crew is now doing a better job of working in the walk-ins, so don’t hesitate to come in, even if you do not have an appointment. I hope to see you all at the blood drive, and bring a friend – show them how easy it is to save lives.
I would like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas. — DEAN CRAMER, blood drive coordinator
