Charles M. “Charlie” Bozic, 56, of Parsons passed away at 10:19 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at Landmark Hospital, Joplin.
He was born on March 5, 1963, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Charles John and Charmian Cecilia “CeCe” (Lord) Bozic. Growing up in Kansas City, Charlie moved to Pittsburg in 1984. He moved to the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center in 1986 and lived in Ash Cottage. In 2016 he moved to his home in the community.
A favorite activity for Charlie was to go to Braum’s to eat ice cream. He loved “sodee pop.” He enjoyed listening to polka music and singing nursery rhymes, with his favorite song being “Rubber Ducky.” A big sports fan, he especially enjoyed watching the KU Jayhawks and going to Royals games. Charlie attended St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and participated in the Sunbelt Special Rodeo.
He was an ornery trickster who won everyone’s heart. Never afraid to use his charisma to get what he wanted, Charlie was spoiled rotten and he knew it.
Survivors include his guardian, Joyce Hall; and many loving friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. The rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Kansas City, Kansas. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Monday at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home.
