Sandy S. Magers, 74, of Parsons died at 1:10 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2019, in Parsons near her family and friends.
She was born Aug. 6, 1944, at Chula Vista, California, to Carel H. and Josephine L. (Shears) Magers. The family moved to Parsons in 1945, later lived in Wichita and returned to Parsons in the 1950s.
Sandy began her work career at the A & B Shade Shop and later became a bookkeeper for Capitol Truck Lines and its successor, Graves Trucking. She retired from Reliable Medical Service in 2009.
She was a member of the Teamsters Union and her interests included reading, crossword puzzles and being with her children.
Survivors include her son, Mike Magers of Olathe; her daughter, Dina Wonn-Zupan (Doug) of Thornville, Ohio; two grandchildren, Jacob Wonn (Robin) of State College, Pennsylvania, and Jesse Wonn (fiancé, Jordon Gray) of Buckeye Lake, Ohio; a great-granddaughter, Izabella Brown of Buckeye Lake, Ohio; a brother, Ron Magers (Joyce) of Parsons; two nieces, Ronni Stringer of Parsons and Angie Burzinski of Blue Springs, Missouri; and two nephews, Donnie Williams of Parsons and Scott Williams of Davenport, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Josephine and Clinton Walker; and a sister, Carolyn Williams.
The graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Oakwood Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Mason officiating.
The Carson-Wall Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and friends may call there until 8 p.m. Thursday.
