Frank Alderman, 77, of Parsons died early Monday morning, July 8, 2019, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. His death followed a brief illness.
He was born to George and Jeanette (Riggs) Alderman on Jan. 13, 1942, in Parsons. Growing up in Parsons, Frank attended St. Mary’s elementary school and graduated from St. Patrick’s High School. He attended Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri, and then transferred to Pittsburg State University, where he completed his bachelor’s degree.
In June 1972, he moved his family to Colorado and worked as an insurance broker. He lived in Colorado Springs until 1986. He then moved to the Westminster-Broomfield area northwest of Denver until retiring and returning to Parsons in 2015.
A devout Catholic, Frank enjoyed singing and had been a member of numerous church choirs throughout many years. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Parsons. He also held memberships in the Knights of Columbus and the Parsons Kiwanis Club. Spending time with his family and friends, reading, working puzzles and telling jokes were some of Frank’s greatest enjoyments.
On June 6, 1964, Frank and Wilmetta Sailsbury were married at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Parsons.
Survivors include his wife, Wilmetta Alderman of Parsons; four sons, Steven Alderman and his wife, Brenda, of Florida, Gregory Alderman and his wife, Mary, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Mark Alderman and Matthew Alderman and his wife, Brenna, all of Denver; a brother, Paul Alderman of Manitou Springs, Colorado; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, George and Jim Alderman; and a sister, Patsy Alderman.
The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Parsons. The rosary will be prayed in the church at 9:30 a.m., immediately prior to the funeral Mass. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
