Kerby Len “Road Dogg” Johnson, 49, of Parsons died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019, at Freeman Hospital West, Joplin.
He was born on May 23, 1970, in Wichita to Chyrell D. (Hellman) Johnson and Nelson Johnson Jr. He grew up there and attended local schools.
He was a “roo roo roofer” and worked for various places until he moved to Douglas, where he worked for J.T. Roofing until he moved to Parsons, working for Border to Border and Hinman Construction.
Kerby was a kind man who enjoyed watching his movies and spending his time with friends and family. He enriched the lives of all who he encountered.
Survivors include a daughter, Kylee Johnson; two sisters, Kat Quick and Karesa Jackson, both of Parsons; a brother, Kip Johnson of Wichita; his brother-in-law and best friend, Lonnie Drake; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, two brothers, a niece and a nephew.
He was loved deeply and will be missed by many.
Friends and family will celebrate his life at 3 p.m. Sunday at Wesley United Methodist Church.
