Caroline J. Kirkpatrick of Parsons passed away at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021, at her home.
Caroline Jean Bybee was born on Sept. 20, 1943, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. As a young girl, she grew up and attended school in Oklahoma City. In 1961, she graduated from Capitol Hill High School in Oklahoma City.
After raising her family, Caroline worked at Cloth World in Joplin from 1981 to 1998. In 1999, she became the manager of Dawson Heritage Furniture Co. in Webb City, Missouri, until her retirement in 2012. She and her husband moved to Parsons in 2016.
On March 19, 1960, Caroline and Dewayne Kirkpatrick were united in marriage in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Marcus Dee Kirkpatrick (Tracy) of Columbia, Missouri; a daughter, Kelly Dee Kirkpatrick (Anthony Ratcliffe) of Parsons; three granddaughters, Anna Elizabeth, Katie Lanette and Hope Noel Kirkpatrick of Columbia, Missouri; and four sisters, Linda Tanksley (Don) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Lila Johnson (Gary) of Collinsville, Oklahoma, Brenda Caskey (Dwayne) and Debra Bourbeau, both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
The chapel service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Galena. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The funeral service can be viewed live on the Forbes-Hoffman Facebook page. For all events, social distancing guidelines will be followed, including the requirement of face masks.
