Betty L. Horton, 94, of Parsons died at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020, at Windsor Place in Coffeyville.
She was born Jan. 6, 1926, in Parsons to Bert L. and Goldie M. (Reno) Martin. She grew up and attended schools in Parsons.
Betty and George W. Horton Jr. were married in San Saba, Texas. Later they divorced, and she eventually returned to Parsons.
In the 1970s and 1980s she operated the Shaggy Waggle Poodle Parlor. She loved dog grooming, animals and working in her yard. She had been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in San Angelo, Texas.
Surviving is a daughter, Patrice Horton of Parsons; and a brother, Jack Martin of Parsons. She was preceded in death by a son, Mark Horton, on March 20, 2020; an infant son, George W. Horton III; a brother, William Martin; and four sisters, Ruth Wilkinson, Ruby Elliott, Mary Johnson and Katherine Littlejohn.
There will be a private burial at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Parsons.
