Sandra “Sandy” Shepard, 57, passed away unexpectedly Monday, March 23, 2020, at Freeman Hospital, Joplin.
Sandy was born on Sept. 8, 1962, in Neodesha the daughter of Ron Richardson and Patricia Mitchell.
Sandy graduated from Altoona-Midway High School, where she started her life’s journey, in May 1980. Sandy then met and married the love of her life, Darrell Shepard, in August 1999. Sandy was always a hard worker and spent many years at Grandview Products and other factories. Then she decided it was time for a change and went to work for LaForge and Budd Construction Co., where she drove a rock truck and worked alongside her husband, Darrell.
Sandy had a love for the outdoors and camping. After becoming disabled, she and Darrell took to the world of full-time campers, which they both enjoyed. Sandy lost Darrell in 2017 but continued to travel until this past year, when she settled back in Parsons.
Sandy’s love for her family was unconditional and was the pure definition of the word love. Sandy had a smile that would light up the room and was always the life of the party. Sandy had a heart of gold and never met a stranger. She loved hard and was loved by many and will be sorely missed.
