OSWEGO — Gregory A. “Greg” Collins, 65, of Oswego passed away at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021, at Oswego Health and Rehab.
Gregory Alan Collins was born on Nov. 27, 1955, to Raymond Thomas and Emma Jean (Addis) Collins in Oswego. As a young boy, he grew up in rural Oswego, attending Sherman City Grade School and Service Valley Grade School. In 1973, Greg graduated from Labette County High School.
For several years, Greg and his brother, Brian, owned and operated an automotive shop in Oswego. He had also worked as the maintenance man at Service Valley Charter Academy in rural Oswego.
Greg was an avid photographer. He enjoyed collecting and playing guitars, collecting guns and skeet shooting. Hunting and fishing were two of Greg’s favorite activities. He loved his bird dog, Winston, and he loved spending time with his great-niece, Lola.
On Aug. 2, 1975, Greg and Debbie K. Jones were united in marriage in Miami, Oklahoma. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Chris Collins and his husband, Jim Hood, of Herculaneum, Missouri; several nieces and nephews including Memory Dandaroy, John Nading, Casie Yount, Jvette Baker, Brad Feagan, Sammy Swanwick and Aspen Ghanchi; and a brother, Brian Collins and his wife, Lori, of Oswego.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister and brother-in-law, Sheryl and John Nading.
No service is planned. Cremation is under the direction of Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons.
