Janice S. Crozier, 68, of Parsons passed away at 9:34 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 2019, at her home.
Janice Sue Jordan was born on Sept. 5, 1951, to Charles “Harry” and Phyllis Elaine (Higgins-Shapley) Jordan in St. John. As a young girl, Janice grew up in various towns and for a time her family lived in the Canal Zone in Panama. She graduated from Caney Valley High School in 1969.
In 1987 Janice earned an associate degree in nursing from Labette Community College. She worked as a registered nurse in nursing homes and hospital geriatric departments. Janice was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Parsons Branch.
She was a devoted wife and mother, making a home for her family as they lived in various places while her husband served in the military. Janice loved to help others and believed that helping others gave her life purpose. She also enjoyed crocheting, watching “The Sound of Music” and taking care of her dogs.
Janice and Theron Gordon Crozier were married on Dec. 12, 1970, in Manti, Utah.
Survivors include her husband, Theron Gordon Crozier of the home; a son, Neal Crozier and his wife, Patricia, of Parsons; two daughters, Cecil “Christy” Grady and her husband, Tony, of Altamont and Betty Hurt and her husband, Brian, of Overland Park; 13 grandchildren; a great-grandchild on the way; a brother, David Jordan and his wife, Joyce, of McCune; three sisters, Terri Homan, Mary Ann Cavanaugh and her husband, Mike, all of Columbus, and Lastenia Jet of Richmond, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The service will be 10 a.m. Friday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Parsons. Burial will take place at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the National Cemetery in Fort Scott. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
