HALLOWELL — Tommy L. Manning, 41, of Hallowell died on Saturday morning, October 10, 2020, due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident south of Labette City.
He was born on June 21, 1979, in Parsons to Dale Manning Jr. and Teresa (Shepard) Manning. Tommy grew up in Labette City and Mound Valley and attended Labette County High School. He worked for AIW in Coffeyville (now Southwire Co.) and the last several years at Old Dominion Freight Line. Tommy was very family oriented and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and attending his children’s ballgames.
He married Ronda Beery and they have two children, Bailey Manning and Trista Manning, both of Pittsburg. They later divorced. He and Katie Smith had two children, Keeghan Smith and Casey Manning, both of Caney.
Other survivors include his spouse, Brandi Laughlin of Hallowell; his mother, Teresa Smith of Parsons; his father, Dale Manning Jr. and his wife, Sheri, of Columbus; two brothers, Joseph Manning and Patrick Manning, both of Parsons; and his grandparents, Dale and Deloris Manning of Mound Valley.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Darren Manning; and grandparents, Frank Shepard and Patty and Glen Blackburn.
A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home.
