Larry D. Williams, 75, passed away at 12:20 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 2019, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
He married Janie Martin on May 24, 1964, at Oswego. They shared 55 years of marriage.
He was born Oct. 10, 1943, at Columbus to Carrol and Leota (Parsons) Williams. He graduated from Labette County Community High School in 1961 and Parsons Junior College in 1964.
Larry began working for Princess Mobile Homes and later started his own business, Kansas Mobile Homes. He had been in the same location since 1966 and worked until his death.
He loved playing sports and coaching youth and adult teams. Almost every year in business he sponsored bowling, softball, basketball and youth sport teams. In 1997 he was inducted into the Kansas Softball Association Hall of Honor. He enjoyed golfing, racquetball, fishing and watching his favorite sports teams. He especially liked to spend time with his family.
Surviving are his wife, Janie; a son, Seth Williams of Springfield, Missouri; a daughter, Julie Mattox (Dave) of Parsons; grandchildren, Shelby Sale (Cameron) of Cherryvale, Jake Mattox of Parsons and Ashlee Williams of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a great-grandson, Easton Sale; an expected great-granddaughter in November; a sister, Sharon Campbell (Bill) of Burleson, Texas; and a brother, Gene Williams (Shirley) of Bartlesville, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carrie, and his parents.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Carson-Wall Funeral Home, with Riley Cartwright officiating. Private burial will be in Springhill Cemetery.
