Bobby D. Ford, 83, of Parsons died at 7:41 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2020, at Labette Health.
He was born June 18, 1936, in Eagle Grove, Iowa, a son of Fredrick and Juanita (Holzer) Ford. He grew up in Eagle Grove and attended school there, graduating from the Eagle Grove High School in 1954. He was employed at the Fareway grocery store and drove a truck for the former Umthum Trucking. Later, he moved to Boca Raton, Florida, and worked as a supervisor at the Boca Raton Hotel and Club for 20 years. He retired and moved to Parsons on Dec. 16, 1996.
He was a coin collector and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. He also enjoyed walking his dogs.
Survivors include a son, Bradley Ford and his wife, Lisa, of Kernersville, North Carolina; three daughters, Jennifer Sanborn-Harper and her husband, Ross, of Parsons, Pamella “Pam” Ford and her husband, John Hayden, of Boston and Christine Gavin and her husband, Todd, of Manchester, Iowa; 11 grandchildren, Caitlyn Hayden of Boston, Nicholas Sanborn, Chase Sanborn, Emma Harper, all of Parsons, Brody Gavin, Bailey Gavin, both of Manchester, Iowa, Ben Gavin of Champaign, Illinois, Christopher Ford, Joey Ford, Brandon Ford and Micah Tiblier, all of North Carolina; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Eugene Ford of Grand Junction, Colorado; and a sister, Louise Peak of Parsons.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ted Ford, George Ford and Dale Ford; and a sister, Emma Thelda Ford, who died as a child.
No service is planned at this time.
