Terry Lee Hendricks, 75, of Parsons died at 4:25 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at the Elmhaven nursing home.
He was born Dec. 30, 1945, at Wichita, a son of Harland Lafayette and Melva Elenore (Schrag) Hendricks. He was raised in Wichita until his family moved to Parsons when he was 13. He attended Service Valley School for a year and then attended Labette County Community High School, graduating in 1964.
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was stationed aboard the USS Yorktown as a sonar operator. He was discharged in 1966 and returned to Parsons. He worked as a television repairman for 10 years and later opened Hendricks’ Welding and Machine. He retired in 2007.
He married Belle Good in the late 1960s. They later divorced.
He enjoyed building car engines, racing stock cars and was a Mopar enthusiast.
Survivors include two brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy and Linda Hendricks of Mulvane and Laurl and Marlene Hendricks of Parsons; and three sisters, Harlene Pool of Parsons, Cathy Lee and Connie Linck, both of Andover.
He was preceded in death by two half-brothers.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at Carson-Wall Funeral Home with military honors given by Brown-Bishop Post No. 704, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Inurnment will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
