Debra L. “Deb” Klingman, 61, of Parsons passed away at 5:37 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.
She was born on Dec. 6, 1959, at Hutchinson to Billy Jean and Anna Mae (Hare) Jones. She grew up in southern California and Girard, where she attended schools and graduated from Girard High School in 1978.
Deb was a homemaker and later worked at Parsons Middle School, Airborne Express, DHL and Pittsburg Care and Rehabilitation as a housekeeper.
Deb loved her family and grandchildren dearly. She enjoyed arts and crafts and going on vacations. She attended Church of Christ in Parsons.
She and Gene Klingman were married on Dec. 5, 1979, at Miami, Oklahoma. He survives of Parsons.
Deb is also survived by her children, Barry Klingman of Parsons and Stacy Moody and her husband, Dustin, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Alyssa Moody, Mason Moody, Hyndall Moody and Aria Moody; her sister, Cheryl Widner; and her niece, Lindsey Perry of Pittsburg. Deb was preceded in death by her parents and a niece, Megan Johnson.
The family will conduct an informal memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday at Church of Christ in Parsons with Kevin Huddleston officiating. The family will receive friends at 12:30 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Burial will be held in Grand Army of the Republic Cemetery in Miami, Oklahoma, at a later date.
