Dustin R. Watkins, 41, of Parsons passed away unexpectedly Friday evening, April 16, 2021, at his home.
He was born on Jan. 17, 1980, at Neodesha to Charles and Debbie (Hentzen) Watkins Jr. He grew up at Neodesha and attended Neodesha schools. Dustin later obtained his general equivalency diploma.
Dustin worked the Southeast Kansas oilfields as a roustabout. He then worked in various jobs before going to work at O’Brien Ready Mix as a truck driver. He later retired due to his declining health.
Dustin enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching Raiders football, video games and working on cars. He attended church at Parsons Nazarene Church.
He is survived by his three sons, Blaine Watkins of Parsons, Dom Anderson and Drake Anderson, both of Neodesha; his grandson, Daxton Anderson of Neodesha; his sister, Tina Russell and her husband, Ken, of Parsons; his paternal grandmother, Martha Cochran of Parsons; his maternal grandmother, Darlene Hentzen of Owasso, Oklahoma; and his niece, Kim Carlson and her husband, Russell, of Parsons. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandfathers, Levar Cochran and Bill Hentzen.
The family will conduct a graveside memorial service at 2 p.m. Friday at Edgmand Cemetery near Columbus with Jason Hines officiating.
