Laura Cruse, 52, of Parsons passed away Monday, Aug. 8, 2022, at her home. Her death was unexpected.
Laura Ann Hicks was born on Nov. 12, 1969, to Donald E. and Julianne (Daley) Hicks in Holton. In 1974, Laura moved with her family to Parsons, where she grew up and attended school, graduating from Parsons High School in 1988.
She was an administrative assistant for Cedar Cottage at the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center.
A proud mother and grandmother, her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family.
On Oct. 5, 1990, Laura and Scott Cruse were married in Miami, Oklahoma. The couple later divorced.
Survivors include two sons, Brett Cruse (Bianca) of Parsons and Zach Cruse of the home; a daughter, Sara Cruse (Bryce) of Altamont; four grandsons, Dean, Henry, Easton and Carson; a brother, John Hicks (Tiffany) of Parsons; and a sister, Terri Jacobson of Lawrence.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Hicks; her mother and stepfather, Julianne and Charley Stevenson; and her sister, Julianne Hicks.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
