Terrell Jean “Terri” Scarborough, 74, of Parsons passed away in the Springfield, Missouri, area following a brief illness.
She was born on Sept. 16, 1944, at Santa Barbara, California, to Walter Terrell and Roberta Jean (Borders) Scarborough Jr. She grew up in various places across the United States due to her father’s military service. She graduated from Liberty High School at Liberty, Missouri. Terri attended Pittsburg State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in education.
She worked as a teacher and as an adjunct instructor at Labette Community College. Terri had a love for the beach and the ocean. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Parsons.
Terri is survived by three daughters, Kelly Dean and her husband, Tim, Rebecca Powell and her husband, James, and Amy Loft and her husband, Robert, all of Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; her brother, Michael Scarborough and his wife, Candy, of Parsons; her sister, Jane Stringer and her husband, Les, of Parsons; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at St. John’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Sharon Billman officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
