Donna L. Geib, 77, of Parsons died at 8:04 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at her home following a period of failing health.
She was born Nov. 22, 1943, in Independence to Russell and LaDonna (Wagner) Drumm. She grew up in Parsons and graduated from Parsons High School in 1961.
In her early adult years Donna was employed in various jobs. Several years later she made the decision to return to school and graduated from the nursing program at Labette Community College. This was a life-changing decision for her and was the beginning of a long and meaningful nursing career.
She worked at the former Katy Clinic and then at the Labette County Medical Center, from where she retired about 11 years ago. She was involved in various positions at the hospital and had been an intensive care unit nurse, nursing supervisor and an instructor for advanced cardiac life support.
She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Parsons.
Donna is survived by three children, Alisha Young and Todd Geib, both of Parsons, and Danny Geib and his wife, Gail, of Belleville, Illinois; four grandchildren, Caroline Geib and Kyle Geib, both of Belleville, Illinois, and Abrienne Young and Alivia Young, both of Parsons; and two brothers, Stanley Drumm and Dennis Drumm, and his wife, Mitzi, all of Sparks, Nevada.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Jared Grady.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Wesley United Methodist Church in Parsons, with the Rev. D. Taud Boatman officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at Carson-Wall Funeral Home.
