Larry V. Moore

Larry V. Moore, 78, of Parsons died at 9:40 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, at Oswego Health and Rehab. 

He was born April 17, 1944, at Parsons, a son of Vernon Breeze and Maxine Rose (Wilson) Moore. He was a lifelong resident of Parsons and graduated from Parsons High School with the Class of 1962. He was first employed at Commercial Publishers (now I.M.I.) and worked for the Katy Railroad and later the Union Pacific Railroad from 1971 until retiring in 1990. 

On March 18, 1967, he married Pat Schoenhofer at Erie. They divorced after 18 years of marriage. 

He was a member of Parsons Elks Lodge No. 527. He enjoyed cars, motorcycles and working on anything with wheels and a motor. He was also an artist.

Survivors include two sons, Kelly V. Moore and his wife, Laura, and Jason O’Neal and his companion, Carmen Johnson, all of Parsons; four grandchildren, Kevin Moore of Springfield, Missouri,  Calleigh Johnson O’Neal, Michael Johnson O’Neal and Austin Johnson O’Neal, all of Parsons.

A memorial visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to the Elks Lodge No. 527 and these may be left at or mailed to the funeral home, P.O. Box 942, Parsons, KS, 67357.
