GALESBURG — Robert D. Tromsness, 60, of Galesburg died at 11 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021, at Labette Health.
He was born Aug. 23, 1960, at Ogden, Utah, a son of Adrian Verdell and Jacqueline D. (Piepkorn) Tromsness. In 1968, his family moved to Parsons and later Galesburg, where he attended school. He graduated from Erie High School and began working at Newberry Construction. He later operated his own construction business. He also worked at Tank Connection in later years.
On May 24, 1980, he married Donna Marie Blaine in Erie. They later divorced.
He was Christian and was confirmed as a Lutheran. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and the outdoors.
Survivors include a daughter, Amber Breedlove of Neosho, Missouri; a son, Drew Tromsness of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Alec Rothman and Kirstin Rothman, both of Neosho, Missouri; a sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Dave McGowen of Shell Knob, Missouri; and a brother and sister-in-law, Andy and Debbie Tromsness of Galesburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dwight Tromsness, and his wife, Debbie.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Galesburg Christian Church with the Rev. Kevin Bayless officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery at Galesburg. Friends may call at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday.
