John Paul “Floss” Flores Sr., 76, of Parsons died at 6:35 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2020, at his home.
He was born Jan. 25, 1944, at Parsons a son of Conrado and Catarina (Escarino) Perez Flores. He was raised at Parsons and attended school here, graduating from Parsons High School in 1963. He began working at Swift and Co. after high school and later worked at the Coors distributing plant. He worked at Ruskin Manufacturing for 25 years, retiring in 2000.
On Sept. 23, 1977, he married Janet Karry at Miami, Oklahoma. She survives of the home.
He was a member of First Christian Church. His hobbies included golfing, playing softball in earlier years, following football and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. He also enjoyed spending time and playing poker with his family.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, John “Bubba” Flores Jr. of Dallas, Texas, and Mark Flores and his companion, Sontana Johnson, of Parsons; a daughter, Angela Pearson and her husband, Keith, of Lawrence; a stepson, Kevin Ingmire and his companion, Robin Ward, of Parsons; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Juanita (Perez) Yanez of Parsons.
A memorial graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, at the patio at Memorial Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Laurie Lewis officiating. Inurnment will follow. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 4 p.m. Saturday at Carson-Wall Funeral Home.
