PITTSBURG — Paula Susan “Dawn” Larery, 57, of Pittsburg died at 7:56 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2021, at Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg. Death followed brief illness.
She was born Sept. 1, 1963, in Parsons to Paul W. and Barbara (Williams) Larery. She grew up in Parsons and graduated from Parsons High School. For many years the Larery family was active in the Faith United Methodist Church in Parsons.
Dawn earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Pittsburg State University and for many years was employed as a nurse in Pittsburg and Joplin. She had been retired for several years.
Her interests included hiking and camping and exploring the mountains in the western United States. She especially loved animals.
Survivors include a special friend, Susan Lutz of Pittsburg; her brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Pat Larery of Carthage, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents and a brother, Jerald Larery, preceded her in death.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Carson-Wall Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The funeral will be livestreamed on the funeral home Facebook page.
