David L. ‘Dave’ Castle

GALESBURG — David L. “Dave” Castle, 67, of rural Galesburg passed away at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022, at his home.

David was born on June 30, 1955, at Parsons to Carl and Florence (Rambo) Castle. He grew up in the Thayer and Galesburg area and attended Galesburg and Erie schools. He graduated from Erie High School in 1973. 

He worked at Bush Hog in Galesburg and then when to work at TecTank as a sheet metal fabricator and retired after 40 years of service. David also helped on the family farm.

David was a devoted family man who cherished his family. He enjoyed fishing, his dogs and making memories with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

He married Debbie Elsworth on July 25, 1975, at the Calvary Baptist Church in Parsons. She survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, David is survived by his daughter, Carrie Brownewell and her husband, Craig, of Lebanon, Missouri; five grandchildren, Bryce Robinson and his companion, Sam Dinkel, Megan Robinson and her companion, Killian Church, Rebekah Brownewell, Craig Brownewell Jr. and Haley Brownewell; three great-grandchildren, John Robinson, Maverick Robinson and Sapphire Church; his brother, Larry Castle of Parsons; his sister, Carol Pilkington and her husband, Harley, of rural Parsons; and several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister-in-law, Peggy Castle.

A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home with Pastor Rodney Howell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday. Memorials are suggested to the Calvary Baptist Church, and these may be left at or mailed to the funeral home, 112 N. 26th St., P.O. Box 942, Parsons, KS, 67357.
