Daniel L. ‘Danny’ Yarnell

Daniel L. “Danny” Yarnell, 25, of Parsons, a former Erie resident, passed away at 10:54 a.m. Monday, Sept. 2, 2019, at Mercy Hospital, Joplin.

He was born on May 25, 1994, at Parsons to Kenneth and Shellie (Queen) Yarnell. He grew up in Erie and attended Erie schools, graduating from Erie High School in 2012. In high school he participated in football, wrestling, baseball and band.

Danny later moved to Parsons and worked at CST Storage and was working at Ducommun Inc. as a machine operator.

Danny was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He played coed softball in the spring and summer and loved to spend time with and make memories with his family and friends. He attended Erie Baptist Church and gave his heart to the Lord at church camp as a teenager. His last act of love was to give others the gift of life through being an organ donor.

Danny’s survivors include his son, Cainen Dean Yarnell of Parsons; his parents, Kenny Yarnell and his wife, Shannon, of Erie and Shellie Bauer and her husband, Brad, of Burlington; his brothers, Keith Yarnell and his wife, Kelsee, of Altamont and Nick Joplin; his sisters, Gloria Schoenhofer and her husband, Chris, of St. Paul, Ashleigh Joplin, Misty Joplin, Mariah Yarnell, all of Parsons, and Cassey Harper of Erie; his paternal grandparents, Leland and Sharon Yarnell of Erie; his maternal grandparents, David and Donna Queen of Neodesha; many nieces and nephews; and several aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Betty Queen.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Erie Baptist Church with Pastor Danny Flippo officiating. Burial will follow in East Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Pierce-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Erie. The casket will remain closed.
