William L. Muntz, 62, of Parsons passed away at 1:26 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, 2021, at Labette Health in Parsons.
He was born Oct. 31, 1958, at Los Angeles to William L. and Shirley A. (Vaughn) Muntz Sr. He grew up at Chino, California, and attended schools there, graduating from Chino High School in 1976.
William served in the U.S. Navy from 1976 to 1980 and then enlisted in the U.S. Army from 1980 until his honorable discharge in 1991.
He moved to Oswego and worked for the highway department in Altamont and then moved to Parsons and worked for Dayton Superior as an assembler and machine preparer, retiring after 20 years of service.
William enjoyed fishing, camping, boating and most of all spending time with his family.
He and Lori Bowman were married on March 15, 1985, at Miami, Oklahoma. She survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jason Muntz and Justin Muntz, both of Kansas City, Missouri; two daughters, Tiffany Caple of Parsons and Ashley Geiger and her husband, Adam, of Erie; eight grandchildren; his mother, Shirley Muntz of Beaumont, California; four sisters, Sherree Gibbons of Beaumont, California, Judy Bowles and her husband, Neil, of Louisburg, Dennie Hanunbrauck and her husband, Mark, of Rescue, California, and Kathy Hobit of Forest Grove, Oregon; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Muntz Sr.; his cousin, Sherman Craig; and his stepmother, Sherree Muntz.
The celebration of life service will be at 1 p.m. Feb. 27 at Erie Baptist Church with Pastor Danny Flippo officiating.
