Patricia A. Burns, 55, of Parsons passed away at 4:29 a.m. Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Labette Health.
Patricia Ann Burns was born on April 15, 1966, to Robert Charles and Janet Lucille (Herrold) Burns in Blue Island, Illinois.
In 2012, Patricia moved to Parsons, where she has lived ever since. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and put her Christianity into practice by giving to various charities throughout her life. She inherited a love for country music from her mother, Janet. At an early age, she suffered a terrible accident, which brought many challenges along the way, but through her faith in the Lord and strong, sanguine nature, she was able to touch many lives. Right before her passing, she had a boyfriend, Robert, whom she bragged about constantly. The two would enjoy listening to the radio together while holding hands. Patricia stayed in close contact with those she held dear. She had a loving nature, a strong heart and a big, beautiful smile, which she wore proudly in every picture. Selfless, like her late sister, Jeanine (J.J.) Ray, Patricia enrolled in the Saving Sight program, impacting the life of another even after her passing. Her family aches in her passing, but knows she is with God and never far away from her cherished loved ones.
Survivors include a daughter, Crystal Schroeder Flanagan of Illinois; her mother, Janet Gaul of North Carolina; a brother, Ricky Dial; and two sisters, Carrie Albano and Melissa Montgomery.
A private family service on the top of Mount Mitchell in North Carolina honored her passing. A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church in Parsons. Cremation is under the direction of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons.
