YUKON, Okla. — Charlotte Ann Sisseck, 81, of Yukon, Oklahoma, passed on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2020.
She was born the second of 10 children to Jack and Norma Kenworthy in Stella, Nebraska, on Nov. 8, 1938.
Charlotte attended Labette County High School in her youth before marrying Charles Sisseck on May 29, 1955, in Cherryvale. Their daughter, Carla Jene Hickey (nee Sisseck), was born in December 1957.
Throughout the next two decades the family moved to follow Charles’ Navy career, with Charlotte making each house a home and making friends along the way. She often found work as a waitress or in the food industry. She later regaled her family with many stories from this time.
In the late 1970s the family settled in Southeast Kansas. Here Charlotte became a grandmother, aunt and great-aunt. She worked at Automotive Control Corp. and Mound Valley Grade School during this time.
In the late 1990s Charles and Charlotte retired to Copan, Oklahoma. During this time she enjoyed her hobbies, including sewing, quilting, gardening, traveling, walking and collecting antique bottles.
More recently she relocated to Yukon, Oklahoma, to be closer to her daughter, granddaughters and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Carla Hickey, and son-in-law Jeff Hickey, of Yukon, Oklahoma; grandson, Travis Hickey of Dallas, Texas; granddaughter, Erin Campbell, and grandson-in-law, Jacob Campbell, of Yukon, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Elizabeth Bowersox, and grandson-in-law, Adam Bowersox, of Edmond, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Grace, Sakura, Owen, Sydney, Alexander and Luke; and siblings, Bonnie Cunningham, Peggy Cunningham, Susan Harper, Melvin Kenworthy and Pat Kenworthy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her parents, Jack and Norma; her brothers, Jackie, Ray, Tony and Jim; and her sister, Jeannie.
Throughout her life Charlotte was an excellent sister and friend to those around her. She hosted many family gatherings and often ended evenings not just with dessert but with dominating the Scrabble board. She will be remembered for her quick wit, fierce love and knack for spelling two-letter words.
