EDNA — Ramona De Cow, 68, of Edna passed away the evening of Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021, at her home.
Ramona Lee Hastings was born on Sept. 1, 1952, to Arthur and Mary (Ware) Hastings in Parsons. As a young girl, she grew up and attended school in Parsons, graduating from Labette County High School in 1970.
On Oct. 12, 1973, Ramona and Ronald D. De Cow were united in marriage at First Baptist Church in Parsons. Throughout the years, besides raising her family and running a dairy farm with her husband, Ramona had worked at Broderick’s Inc. sewing factory in Oswego.
A devoted wife and mother, Ramona enjoyed helping her children with their school projects as they were growing up. She also enjoyed traveling, walking in nature and watching western movies.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald D. De Cow of the home; a son, Clinton Leon De Cow of Edna; a daughter, Julie Smith and her husband, Richard, of Vista, California; a granddaughter, Samantha Smith of Vista, California; a brother, Charles Hastings of Parsons; two sisters, Sheena Hastings of Parsons and Shirley Powell and her husband, George, of Michigan; a sister-in-law, Darlene Trollope of Coffeyville; and two brothers-in-law, Terry De Cow of Edna and Marvin De Cow of Wichita.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother and sister-in-law, David and Peggy Hastings.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will follow at Lake Creek Cemetery in Bartlett. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The funeral service can be viewed live on the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home Facebook page.
