Robert E. “Bob” Adams, 82, of rural Parsons passed away at 1:50 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.
He was born on May 5, 1939, to Robert Eugene and Elsie (Foreman) Adams in Parsons. While growing up on the family farm in rural Labette County, he attended school and showed cattle in 4-H and FFA. In 1958, Robert graduated from Labette County Community High School and then he attended Labette County Junior College for a year and also served in the National Guard.
His life was dedicated to farming the family farm homestead in rural Labette County. He was a lifelong member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Parsons.
On June 2, 1962, Robert married Carolyn S. Ramsey at St. John’s Episcopal Church. She survives of the home.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn, of the home; a daughter, Dana Carter and her fiancée, Randy Brown, of Erie; two grandsons, Justin Willems and Levi Willems; eight great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Skylar, Noah, Jackson, Jeremiah, Jonnie, Kasyn and Macy; and his twin sister, Roberta Hoffman and her husband, Peter, of Silver Spring, Maryland.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Dolores Young.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Parsons. Burial will follow at Mound Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. The service can be viewed live on the Forbes-Hoffman Facebook page.
