18th Street Pub
Eddward and Trisha Fitzgerald stand outside the new 18th Street Pub on Tuesday afternoon. The couple owns the bar together.

People can now drink, eat and socialize at a new establishment in downtown Parsons.

The 18th Street Pub, 112 S. 18th St., officially opened its doors to the public Wednesday. It is in the former spot of Finnegan’s Pub and Deli.

The pub will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. every day.

Owners and husband-wife duo Eddward and Trisha Fitzgerald run and operate the pub, which will also offer food to patrons in the future.

“We don’t have food right now, but we will,” Eddward said. “... We’re going to expand as we go and change things as we need to. We’re eventually going to do smoked pork butts and pulled pork. That’s going to be our big thing once we get up and running.”

The couple, originally from Columbus, Ohio, moved to Parsons in February in preparation to open the pub. Eddward had lived in Parsons previously and worked at Finnegan’s Pub and Deli. He said he has always wanted to open up his own bar.

“This has been a long dream of mine,” Eddward said. “Maybe not (Trisha’s) as much, but she’s supporting me in it.”

On the horizon, the couple will host a Christmas Day dinner to the public starting this year, Eddward said.

“We’re going to do that. We’re going to make that a yearly thing,” he said. Eddward said, “... We got a lot of bands coming out of Tulsa that’s going to come up and play too.”

The pub will host a 50s and older night and have other specials as well.

“We got a lot of things planned,” Eddward said.

Eddward and Trisha said the public is excited for the new bar.

“Every time we would come to visit, they would ask (Eddward) when he would be opening a bar, or if he was opening a bar,” Trisha said.

“The reception’s been really good,” Eddward added. “Hope we get a turn-out.”
