CHERRYVALE — A Cherryvale man received a gunshot wound to the left side of his face Friday. Cherryvale police were looking for a tan Lincoln with Labette County tags.
Parsons police located a potential suspect vehicle in the 3100 block of Dirr Friday evening. Cherryvale police also responded, according to Parsons Police Chief Robert Spinks.
The suspect sought in the shooting was not located, however. Cherryvale police impounded the vehicle, Spinks said.
The man shot placed a video on his Facebook page showing his wounds that ran from his left cheek to his left ear. His shirt was bloodied. He reported being flown by helicopter to a Joplin hospital.
Other Cherryvale area residents on Facebook showed pictures of what they said was the suspect vehicle and a person standing by the vehicle. It's unknown if that was the same car and if the person standing by the vehicle is the suspect in the shooting. The license plate on the car matches the one named by the victim of the shooting on his Facebook video.
