Parsons firefighters extinguished a fire in an engine of a car at 29th and Crawford early Tuesday morning.
Firefighters were called at 6:37 a.m. Tuesday to 29th and Crawford, according to Fire Chief Jay Hawks.
The occupant of the vehicle, Cinthia Miller of Parsons, smelled smoke and got out of the vehicle at 29th and Crawford and called 911.
Hawks said fire crews found flames coming from the engine and put the fire out. By this time, the fire extended to the passenger area of the vehicle.
No injuries were reported. The damage to the vehicle, which was insured, was estimated at $2,500.
