Six of 10 Parsons City Commission candidates, including the incumbent, will move on to the November general election after Tuesday’s primary balloting.
The primary was to reduce the number of names on the general election ballot from 10 to six.
The six winners are:
Kevin Cruse (incumbent), 363 votes; Leland Crooks, 317; Eric Strait, 287; Verlyn Bolinger, 282; Jonna Gabbert, 206; and Sontana Johnson, 135.
The candidates who were eliminated were Ryan Robertson, 124 votes; Braden Lett, 90; Brady Magner, 88; and Jeffrey Stammer, 60.
Only 730 ballots were counted in the election.
The board of canvassers will canvass the ballots on Aug. 19.
The unofficial voter turnout was 11.6%.
