A former softball coach at Labette County High School has been charged with two felonies.
Lori K. Green, born in 1963, Altamont, is charged in Labette County District Court with two counts of aggravated endangering a child, both level nine felonies. Generally lower-level felonies do not require prison time upon conviction based on Kansas Sentencing Guidelines, but that depends on a defendant’s criminal history.
The incident in question happened on May 14 during the school year, according to the complaint. Green is alleged to have endangered two students with an automobile.
Green will make a first appearance Thursday.
The Labette County USD 506 Board of Education accepted Green’s resignation for retirement on May 22. Green was also librarian at LCHS.
The decision followed several closed sessions with the coach and board members to discuss nonelected personnel.
