A man faces robbery and theft charges related to a holdup at a convenience store in Oswego.
Benjamin L. Queen, 36, Oswego, is charged in Labette County District Court with aggravated robbery, the minimum punishment for which is 4.5 years in prison, and theft, a misdemeanor.
The complaint alleges the crime occurred Feb. 2 at Casey’s General Store in Oswego. Queen allegedly used a plastic gun wrapped in black tape to get an undisclosed amount of cash from the store.
In court, Queen asked to speak with the county attorney to resolve the matter. Senior Judge Robert Fleming said that wouldn’t be possible since Queen has an attorney appointed, Robert Myers of Columbus.
Bond is set at $50,000. Queen will return to court on Thursday.
