A Pittsburg woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident Thursday morning on U.S. 400 that blocked the highway for a time.

The accident happened at 5:30 a.m. Thursday on the highway west of the Neosho River bridge, 8 miles east of Parsons.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a pickup driven by Courtney Williams, 29, Pittsburg, was westbound on U.S. 400 and a van driven by Rebecca Weichert, 42, Willard, Missouri, was eastbound on the highway. Williams lost control of her pickup because of ice on the road and collided with Weichert’s van.

Williams had suspected minor injuries and was taken to Labette Health. Her passengers, Brielle Canfield, 2 months, and Jonathan Canfield, 1, had no apparent injuries. Weichert was not injured.
