Parsons police arrested a Parsons man Friday afternoon after he allegedly threatened a neighbor with a gun.

Police were called to a disturbance in the 3100 block of Corning in the early afternoon Friday. It was reported that a man was waving a gun in the air and making threatening remarks, according to a release from police.

When officers arrived, they learned that the altercation was the result of a civil dispute that turned hostile. It escalated and the suspect, Steven Marshall, 68, of Parsons allegedly pointed a .45 caliber/.410 gauge Judge revolver at a man threatening to kill him, according to the alleged victim and a witness in the area.

Officers arrested Marshall on suspicion of aggravated assault and criminal threat.

Parsons Police Chief Robert Spinks said, “Again we owe a huge thanks to witnesses who embrace the see it, hear it, report it mentality and notify officials. This arrest was made possible by cooperation with the citizens who reported it and were willing to do the right thing.”
