Parsons attorney Shane Adamson was the first of nine candidates interviewed Friday by the 11th Judicial District nominating commission in the Labette County Judicial Center in Parsons. Each candidate had up to 20 minutes for the interview, though some took slightly longer and other interviews were shorter. In the end, Adamson, Cherokee County Magistrate Judge Samuel Marsh and Pittsburg attorney Steven A. Stockard were nominated and their names sent to Gov. Laura Kelly for a decision. Kelly has 60 days to name the judge who will replace retired Judge Jeffry L. Jack.
