Spilled Corn

City of Parsons employees worked Wednesday morning on South 16th Street in the rain to clear blocks and blocks of corn that spilled from a grain truck. More corn spilled on the highway at the roundabout at the junction of U.S. 59 and U.S. 160 and continued east toward Oswego. Parsons City Manager Debbie Lamb said city crews loaded up the 10-wheel dump truck with the spilled corn, which was taken to the city’s brush dump south of Parsons. The city crews picked up corn from Herrman Lumber south to the city limits. Most of the corn was on the north side of the railroad overpass.
