INDUSTRY VISIT: RAY PRODUCTS

Ray Products, 1212 Corporate Drive, was incorporated in 1966 by John Joseph Ray. Steve Ray ran the company from the 1970s until 2003, when John Ray took over. This year, Philadelphia businessman Bill Lamb bought the company that has 11 setup paper box lines in a 55,000 square-foot facility. The facility also has two foil stamping/embossing presses.

Ray Products designs and manufactures custom setup or rigid paper boxes: tightwrap, loosewrap, clear vinyl boxes, shoulder boxes, slipcases, book boxes, boxes with hinged lids, platforms and die-cut inserts. Items produced include candy/chocolate boxes, gift boxes, game boxes, cosmetic boxes and CD/DVD boxes.

Ray Products employs 40 people and wants to hire two more.

Clockwise from top, Zach Cook on Wednesday morning at Ray Products operates a machine that places adhesive on boxes to help with assembly.
