Honoring Olson

People pay their respects to Charles “Charlie” Olson and his family as his funeral procession passes by the south side of Olson’s Ace Hardware, 200 N. 18th St., on Thursday morning. The family decided to take a side trip from Carson-Wall Funeral Home around the Ace Hardware block on the way to Memorial Lawn Cemetery because the number of people attending the funeral had to be limited during the novel coronavirus pandemic. People lined the streets from Main Street near the railroad underpass and around the block at Ace Hardware, which was closed on Thursday. Olson opened the hardware store in 1956.
