Street Work

Employees of Heckert Construction Inc., Pittsburg, work on concrete around a stormwater grate in the Main Street railroad underpass on Friday to try to make it and the surrounding asphalt level. The company recently laid new asphalt on Main Street, and it wasn’t level with the concrete, making for a bumpy ride. The city of Parsons plans to paint lane stripes on the stretch of Main from Central Avenue to 22nd Street next week. The new asphalt was laid weeks ago, but the city had to wait a replacement part for its lane striping machine.
