Anthony and Lauren Diskin

Lauren Renae Tapp and Anthony Patrick Diskin were married May 18 at Ascension Catholic Church in Overland Park. The Rev. Thomas Tank officiated the 1:30 p.m. double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Robert and Kathy Tapp of Spring Hill. The groom is the son of Terry and Suzie Diskin of St. Paul.

Hilary Watkins of Choctaw, Oklahoma, the bride’s cousin, was maid of honor. Lauren’s bridesmaids were Regan LaTessa of Lawrence, Ashley Eichelberger of Carl Junction, Missouri, Tara Crossland of Bentonville, Arkansas, Aleah Kahn of Olathe, Kasey Paez of Spring Hill and Allie Brookerd of Shawnee.

Gerald Diskin of York, Pennsylvania, served as his brother’s best man. Anthony’s groomsmen were Michael Diskin of St. Paul, brother of groom; Jarod Tapp of Spring Hill, brother of the bride; Rece Dawson of Mound City; Brett Miller of Butler, Missouri; Paul Schibi of Parsons; and Nick Corn of St. Paul.

William Helm of Overland Park, Sean Keenan of Stilwell and Jay Smith of Lawrence, all brothers-in-law of the groom, served as ushers.

Sophia Helm of Overland Park, niece of the groom, was flower girl.

Matthew Helm of Overland Park, nephew of the groom, was ring bearer.

Katie Keenan of Stilwell and Laura Helm of Overland Park, both sisters of the groom, were lectors. Madelyn Smith, Isabella Smith of Lawrence and Emma Keenan of Stilwell, all nieces of the groom, distributed programs and attended the guest book.

Melanie Smith, sister of the groom, and David VanLeeuwen were soloists. Dorothy Brandwein played organ and piano for the ceremony.

The reception, dinner and dance took place at The Cidery Barn at KC Wine Co. in Olathe.

Mrs. Diskin graduated in 2017 from Pittsburg State University and is attending the physician’s assistant program at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. 

Mr. Diskin is a 2017 graduate of Pittsburg State. He is attending University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry in Kansas City, Missouri.

After a wedding trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, the Diskins are at home in Mission.
