Labette Health announced that Jessica Helt, human resources compensation and benefits manager, passed the certification examination to become a Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). The SHRM-SCP credential is for senior-level human resources (HR) professionals who develop strategies, lead the HR function, foster influence in the community, analyze performance metrics and align HR strategies to organizational goals.
To be eligible to receive senior-level certification from the SHRM, individuals must have a bachelor’s degree plus at least four years in an HR role or a graduate degree with at least three years in an HR role. The SHRM-SCP exam contains two types of questions: (1) stand-alone knowledge-based items that assess a candidate’s knowledge and understanding of factual information, and (2) scenario-based situational judgment items that assess a candidate’s judgment, application and decision-making skills.
“Earning this certification is important to me because it shows my peers and organization that I am not only well versed within my field, but also dedicated to the HR profession,” said Helt.
“The SHRM member resources have proven to be invaluable, and the volunteer leadership opportunities given to me have also helped develop my skills and build relationships.”
