James David “J.D.” Adams, 60, of Parsons passed away at 2:13 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024, at his home.
He was born on June 24, 1964, in Phoenix, Arizona, to James L. and Beverly M. (Starnes) Parker. He attended schools in Parsons and graduated from Parsons High School in 1982.
After graduation, J.D. served in the United States Army for three years and then attended cosmetology school. For several years he worked for the Houstonian Hotel, Club and Spa, in Houston as a hair stylist, and some his clients included former President George H.W. Bush, Hakeem Olajuwon and Stephanie Powers. When he returned to Parsons he worked for Studio One Hair Salon. J.D. was a great artist and was a talented home decorator.
Survivors include his brothers, Herb Adams and his wife, Lynda, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Tony Adams and his wife, Connie, of Parsons; a sister, Diana Murry of Rockport, Texas; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Tina Marie Adams.
A rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. Sunday at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the rosary until 6:30 p.m. The family suggests memorials to St. Patrick Catholic Church, and these may be mailed or left at the funeral home, P.O. Box 942, Parsons, KS, 67357.
